Parents, carers and the community

As a parent or carer, you are an important part of our school community. We offer a range of services to support you and your family.

Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.

Douglas Park Public School 's Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a welcoming group of parents and community members who work hard to provide extra opportunities for the students of the school.

They meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the school staffroom (in school terms).

Everyone is welcome. New members are always welcome!

The P&C organises many fundraising events throughout the year and help is always appreciated.

Our primary focus is fund raising for the school. We are an active and friendly group, but always need more helpers. Money raised purchases resources for the children in the school.

These activities include such things as: Mothers' Day stall, Fathers' Day stall, raffles, school fete, trivia nights, and discos.

Mrs Mel Galea runs the uniform shop on behalf of the P&C. It is located at the school in the canteen area. An order form is on this page and can be handed in at the office. Alternatively, you may contact Ms Galea on the telephone number on the order form.

The P&C organise Scholastic Book Club periodically (Mrs Harvey).

Our school canteen provides:

  • low cost healthy foods
  • a friendly environment for volunteers and children
  • lunch is provided to all volunteers

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

For more information, listen in your language.

Visit the department’s translated documents section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.
